General Government Law
The Hungerford Law Firm continually advises school boards and administrators around the state regarding education laws, ODE regulations, public meetings laws, and public records law. When requested by school boards, we have represented board members or administrators in connection with issues before the Oregon Ethics Commission and Teachers Standards and Practices Commission.
Members of the firm have a long history of teaching educational leaders around the state. For instance, Nancy Hungerford has previously taught courses in School Law at Portland State University, the University of Oregon, and Lewis & Clark College. Similarly, Jennifer Hungerford and Nancy Hungerford designed and taught Lewis & Clark’s course “Ethics, Policy and the Law,” which is part of the initial coursework in the administrative preparation program at Lewis & Clark.
Multiple attorneys from the firm frequently and regularly present at numerous annual conferences, including the Oregon School Law Conference, the COSA summer conference, and many other workshops conducted at the request of local districts and ESDs. We view these opportunities to train administrators as among our most significant opportunities to assist Oregon school districts. See our Workshops page to see some of the upcoming trainings our attorneys are conducting.
